Last night I was sitting in a wine and food tasting with winemaker Maria Tatsis talking about how much Americans appreciate a great red wine. When I glanced at my phone and saw the news about John C. Dvorak, at first I could not believe it. I'd always hoped that one day Dana Berneti would fire up the private jet, bring John along to Gomanesa and let me introduce him to the incredible Xinomavro wines of Northern Greece. That dream disappeared in an instant. I still hope Dana, Adam, and of course John's family will find their way to Gomanesa someday. We'll open a special bottle of Xinomavro, share stories and toast a remarkable life. Rest in peace, John. Thank you for your wit, your curiosity and the countless conversations that made so many of us think a little differently. Cheers to you. May his memory be eternal.
