Adam, I wanted to share what John and No have meant to me. I first knew John from twit as the cranky geek who brought reality to an otherwise over enthusiastic crew of tech foamers. I had followed tech TV to Twitter, but through John I found No Agenda. That is where I discovered Gitmo Nation was my people and that it really was the best podcast in the universe. For at least sixteen years, the Crackpot and Buzzkill have been part of my Thursday and Sunday routine. The show grew with me from college and adulthood. Even though I never met John, I came to feel like I knew him. He became an important part of my life and a mentor who taught me to question the narrative, think critically and always look for the scam. That stayed with me as I built a career in technology. John taught me not to confuse enthusiasm with evidence, authority with truth, a polished story with reality. A few months ago, I was in Northern Silicon Valley during a meet up, could not make it. I thought of John as I drove past the mudflat. But, yep, still there. I wish I had made it. With much love to John, his family, his friends, you and all of Gitmo Nation, thank you for everything you and John created in the morning. John.
