- 1889 — Producer's Tribute to JCD$500.00
Two years ago, my brother, Rob, the constitutional lawyer, called me while I was walking around the campus. The greatest university on the planet, Texas A and M. Whoop. Dropping off our youngest for school, he was actually calling to ask for some job search advice for a friend. As it turns out, the story led straight to No Agenda. Then he asked me, do you remember PC Magazine? I laughed. Of course, I do. From there, he told me about meeting John and Adam. And before long, my smoking hot hillbilly husband and I became devoted No Agenda producers in waiting. For the past two years, those six hours a week have been some of the few moments where the noise of the world fades away and the common sense returns. When my brother texted this week to tell me that John had died, it felt like a punch in the gut. I've been following John C. Dvorak's work for more than thirty years. John had a combination of wit, intelligence, skepticism, and delightful cranky charm that simply can't be replaced. He taught generations of us to question narratives, think independently, and never lose our sense of humor while doing it. The donation in John's memory is officially our de douching. If John's passing has reminded me of anything, it's this. Don't wait. Support the things you value. Tell people what they mean to you. Make the trip. Give the donation. Live the life. Thank you, John, for decades of insight, laughter, and perspective. You left the world sharper than you found it. Godspeed, John. Rest in peace.
