Dear Adam and Mimi and family, I want to share my memory of John from when he visited Michigan for a speaking engagement and asked to meet any local producers. So some of us met him at an Ann Arbor Brewing Company on Monday, 05/19/2014. See attached photo of us, him that night. Jeff Lundberg created a list serve to stay in touch with John and each of us that week. And John arranged a second meet up on Thursday, May 22 at Ironwood Grill and then the Box Bar in Plymouth. I arrived late to the Box Bar after my friend Ryan let me drive his Lotus at a car club event. And John and I talked about that and cars in general for almost an hour at an outside table after many had gone home. John loved Cars and I cherished that time chatting with him on that clear spring night. A month or so afterward, he nicknamed us No Agenda Local one because he kept meetings thanks to Jeff's listserv that made it easy to keep it going. I want to thank John for bringing us all together and I hope that Jeff, Lisa, Alicia, Scott, Brian, Aaron and others from those initial two meetups are all doing well. Bless you Adam and the Dvorak family in this time of grief. I closed with John's email message to the list as he was setting up our Thursday night meetup. It made me laugh then and still does now. We had a meeting yesterday at ABC in Ann Arbor. It was great although I'll be confusing names for a while. Today I'm headed to the Detroit Institute of Arts Museum. Use this mailing list, I think we can do an expanded meetup from the new folks on the list. Perhaps Thursday night. There are now enough people to make a football team.
