dear Adam John's family and the No Agenda donation. I've been following John for over three decades now. In the early nineties, in the back of the computer magazines I used to sit and read at Barnes and Noble, John C. Dvorak was there during the golden years of tech TV before it went stupid. John was there on Leo's podcast in the earliest days when they still called them Netcast, John was there. The Cranky Geeks, No Agenda and DH Unplugged, John was there. I'm nine episodes behind the show so for me, John is still there. I think I'll hold those few episodes for a rainy day knowing that John and Adam will still be there. One of my favorite Doctor Who line sticks in my head. The doctor says something like, every time that you see people happy, you remember how sad they're going to be later and it breaks your heart. What's the point of being happy now if they're just going to be sad? And the answer of course is because they're going to be sad later. This feels true right now. We always got the happy now it is time for the sadness. I never got to meet John or any of you never shook hands or shared a meal, but after all those years of listening, John and Adam allowed me to feel a little part of their family. John stories the way he talked about technology and the industry and the bits about everyday life. Let me share in some of the happiness and camaraderie. It's a real gift and one that death doesn't get to take away. Through all the crazy years, the endless news cycles, the pandemics, the AI panic, the climate alarms, the constant sense of imminent doom, John and Adam wore a steady hand on the tiller. Especially during the 2020 COVID times when the media was pouring out panic and fear and doubt, the two of you were a stabilizing voice of reason. That meant a great deal to me and I imagine it did for a lot of other people too.
